Need a TOD Converter for Mac to Have More Fun?

I have a JVC full HD 1080p camcorder and I’m wondering if it will automatically make the video clips HD on YouTube or do I have to convert it to an HD format? Is there a simple TOD to (whatever the format is) converter?

It’s a JVC Everio gz-hd6 that belongs to my school and I need to get some footage off of it. I need to convert the .TOD to anything I can use in iMovie, FCE, FCE, etc. Any suggestions?
