I'm thinking about emigrating abroad. The U.K has become an unbearable place to live with ever rising taxes, expensive utilities, the credit crunch, passive invasion from the Eastern Block, unemployment etc etc etc...

Where are good places for Brits to emigrate to?

There are the obvious countries like Australia and New Zealand, but that's a long way to go; far from relatives back home. I fancy Italy or Turkey, but they have issues with online gaming.

One of my mates has left Australia for many of the reasons outlined, so it isn't allways as great as you think to live elsewhere. (why else do so many people want to live here?)
Just had trips to Spain and Italy, both were good but wouldn't want to live there, also found it expensive.


PS As you are in Hampshire, try the Isle of Wight?

We always think that the grass is greener on the other side, but a change is as good as a rest.
People want to migrate to Britain, because it offers them a better lifestyle. I lived in Russia and other Republics for 15 years and know how the working class just about exist, let alone live.
I fancy living in a warmer climate, living off the fat of the land, far from the madding crowd, with a decent internet connection, of course
Isle of Wight is a lovely place to visit, but living there would be akin to a prison sentence.
I might end up becoming a 'Perpetual Traveller' like some of my friends. That is probably a better option, because you're not tied to any one place. Hmm.....
